Details:

Steering box was primed and painted with a durable low gloss enamel and comes adjusted and filled with lubricant. Riot can also be used on the earlier bugs and Ghia up through 1961 if you also replace the drop arm dog bone at the bottom of the steering box that connects to the tie rods with a P/N drop arm. German bearings were installed as well as new seals.

Also was originally installed on all type 3 model's and the things.

This part number steering box was installed by the Volkswagen factory on bugs and Ghia from 1962 through 1977, but not super beetles.

Damaged components were replaced.

This the version of the steering box that has a reusable metal screw in lube plug instead of the two push in plastic plugs. Rebuilt original german steering box part number 061c. Note that workmanship and finish of the german bearings used in this steering box are far superior to the bearings that come installed in new Brazilian steering boxes. Steering box was completely disassembled, cleaned and inspected.

The steering box in the pictures is the actual one offered for sale. Exterior steel hardware was replanted.
