Pros of buying a 1964-70 GTO, Firebird, GS 442, Chevelle, Camaro with NOS (New Old Stock) tie rod:

1. Authenticity: NOS parts are original pieces that were manufactured during the production period of the vehicle and have not been used or restored. This means that the parts will match the original specifications of the car and will not have been altered in any way.

2. Quality: NOS parts are often of higher quality than used or restored parts, as they have not been subjected to wear and tear or damage. This can result in better performance and longevity for the vehicle.

3. Value: NOS parts can be valuable collectors' items, especially for rare or hard-to-find models. This can make the investment in NOS parts a worthwhile one in the long run.

4. Improved safety: Replacing worn or damaged parts with NOS parts can improve the safety of the vehicle. For example, a worn tie rod can cause the steering to become loose or unresponsive, which can be dangerous.

Cons of buying a 1964-70 GTO, Firebird, GS 442, Chevelle, Camaro with NOS tie rod:

1. Cost: NOS parts can be expensive, as they are often difficult to find and in high demand. This can make the overall cost of restoring or maintaining the vehicle higher than it would be with used or restored parts.

2. Availability: NOS parts may not be available for every make, model, and year, which can make it difficult to find the specific parts needed for the vehicle.

3. Fitment: NOS parts may not always fit perfectly, as they were manufactured to fit the specifications of the vehicle at the time of production. This can require additional time and effort to ensure that the parts are installed correctly.

4. Storage and handling: NOS parts should be stored and handled carefully to prevent damage, as they are often fragile and valuable. This can require additional time and resources to ensure that the parts are properly protected.

Conclusion:

Buying a 1964-70 GTO, Firebird, GS 442, Chevelle, Camaro with NOS tie rod can be a worthwhile investment for collectors and enthusiasts, as the parts are often of higher quality and can improve the performance and safety of the vehicle. However, the cost and availability of NOS parts can be a drawback, and the parts may not always fit perfectly. Ultimately, the decision to use NOS parts should be based on the specific needs and goals of the project.

Recommendation:

If the vehicle is being restored or maintained for use as a daily driver, it may be more cost-effective to use used or restored parts instead of NOS parts. However, if the vehicle is being restored for collectors' value or to maintain its original specifications, using NOS parts can be a good investment. It is recommended to research the availability and cost of NOS parts for the specific make, model, and year of the vehicle before making a decision. Additionally, it is important to handle and store NOS parts carefully to ensure their longevity and value.
